Our Story

When our dog, Sooty… “World’s Best Dog”, passed away we were devastated. She had been an integral part of our family for 17 years. We just weren’t ready to say good-bye. When we received her cremated remains back from our vet, we were faced with the decision of how best to remember our beloved companion.

We looked at pet memorial products on the internet, but none of them seemed right for Sooty. We wanted something that looked like our dog and we wanted to put it in her favorite place. There just wasn’t anything like that available.

The solution was to make a small statue of Sooty from her own ashes.

Bob is a mason by trade. He quickly came up with the right combination of ingredients to make a strong and weatherproof statue. Soon we had our beautiful “Sooty” statue. She sits in her favorite spot on the step by our front door. We see her every time we enter or leave. It is exactly the right way for us to remember her.

Pet loving friends and neighbors began asking us to make statues of their special companions. That is how #One Pet Memorials got started.
